PDXWIT Presents: The Importance Of (Virtual) Community, A Panel Discussion

Virtual community and feelings of isolation in the workplace are not new, but COVID-19 has heightened those feelings and needs for many of us. Join PDXWIT for this panel discussion to learn more about the power of community, and what virtual community can look like in the context of this global pandemic.

This event is hosted by New Relic and moderated by Isabel J. Rodriguez, Communication & Data Specialist at PDXWIT, you will hear from three phenomenal panelists:

Ruby Joy White (prince/they/them) is a cultural curator, writer and sociologist who is currently working as the Equity and Racial Justice Program Manager at Metro.

Ashley Walker (she/her) is an astrochemist and founder of the virtual Twitter #BlackinAstro community and movement. She’s currently a PhD student at Howard University.

Kaylee Arnold (she/her) is a disease ecologist, educator, and dancer. She is currently a PhD student at the University of Georgia.

We will have ASL interpretation and closed captioning throughout. Please get in touch at hello@pdxwit.org with any additional accessibility needs you may have.

* You will have the option to provide your address at registration so we can send you something cool ahead of the event in the mail.
